LIVE rides let you pick up riders on demand — no pre-scheduled routes needed. A rider posts a request, you see it instantly, make an offer, and earn. Here's every step of the flow.

STEP 01 / DASHBOARD

Go online

Your Captain dashboard is the command center. Switch to the LIVE tab and make sure your status shows "Online" — this makes you visible to riders posting requests nearby.

  1. Open the XOOM Captain app and tap the LIVE tab at the top.
  2. Make sure your status shows Online with a green dot — "Visible to riders nearby."
  3. Check your reliability score — top-tier captains (score 100) get a 30-second head start on LIVE rides.
  4. Use the distance filters to control which requests you see: ≤5 km, ≤10 km, ≤15 km, or All.
  5. Expand "Show tips to get more LIVE rides" for optimization advice.

STEP 02 / INCOMING

A request appears

When a rider posts a LIVE ride request near you, it pops up instantly on your dashboard with all the details you need to decide — distance, route, passengers, and a fare range.

  1. A card appears showing the ⚡ LIVE badge, distance from you, and estimated time (e.g. "0.0 km · ~1 min").
  2. You'll see the full route: pickup and drop-off addresses.
  3. The card shows trip distance (e.g. 4.1 km), number of passengers (e.g. 3 pax), and vehicle type.
  4. A fare range is displayed (e.g. PKR 304–423) — your offer must fall within this range.
  5. Tap Make Offer to submit your bid.
Be fastLIVE requests are time-sensitive. Other captains in range can see them too — the first good offer usually wins.

STEP 03 / BID

Make your offer

The offer sheet lets you set your price, your estimated arrival time, and even send a personal message to the rider. The fare range is enforced — you can't go above or below.

  1. The fare range is shown at the top (e.g. PKR 304–423) with a note that it includes the LIVE premium.
  2. Use Quick Offer buttons to pick Low, Mid, or High — or type a custom amount in the field below.
  3. Set your arrival time — how many minutes until you reach the pickup (3, 5, 7, 10, or 15 min). Be honest: the rider sees a live countdown, and unrealistic picks are rejected.
  4. Optionally add a message to the rider (e.g. "On my way, black Swift").
  5. Tap Offer PKR [amount] to send your bid, or Cancel to back out.
Pricing tipMid-range offers (not the lowest, not the highest) tend to get accepted most often. Riders see your arrival time alongside the price — a faster arrival can offset a slightly higher fare.

STEP 04 / MATCH

Offer accepted!

When the rider accepts your offer, you'll get an instant notification at the bottom of your screen. The ride is now locked in — time to head to the pickup point.

  1. A green notification banner slides up: "Offer Accepted!" with the ride code, rider name, and pickup location.
  2. The ride now appears under "1 active ride in progress" at the top of your dashboard.
  3. Your status changes to "On the way to pickup" — the rider can see you're heading their way.
  4. Use Call Rider if you need directions or want to confirm the exact spot.
Don't delayThe rider is waiting and can see your estimated arrival. Head to the pickup immediately after acceptance.

STEP 05 / NAVIGATE

Head to pickup

You're on your way. The ride card shows the full route details and a Call Rider button. When you arrive at the pickup point, let the rider know.

  1. Your ride card shows "On the way to pickup" status badge in yellow.
  2. The full pickup address and drop-off address are visible on the card.
  3. Fare is confirmed (e.g. PKR 364).
  4. When you physically arrive at the pickup location, tap "I'm at pickup" — the yellow button.
  5. Use In-app chat (ephemeral) if you need to coordinate without calling.

STEP 06 / PICKUP

Start the ride

You've arrived and tapped "I'm at pickup." Now the status switches to "Waiting at pickup" and a no-show timer begins counting down. Once the rider is in your vehicle, start the ride.

  1. Status badge changes to "Waiting at pickup".
  2. A no-show timer appears (e.g. "No-show in 4:56") — if the rider doesn't show up before it hits zero, you can cancel without penalty.
  3. Once the rider boards your vehicle, tap the yellow "Start Ride" button.
  4. Status changes to "Ride in progress" — you're officially on the trip.
No-show protectionIf the rider doesn't show up before the timer runs out, you won't be penalized for cancelling. Your reliability score stays intact.

STEP 07 / DROP-OFF

Complete the ride

You've reached the drop-off point. Time to mark the ride as done. Both captain and rider need to confirm completion for the fare to be finalized.

  1. Status badge shows "Ride in progress".
  2. Once you drop the rider at their destination, tap the green "Confirm Ride Completed" button.
  3. The system now shows "Captain pending" and "Rider pending" — both sides need to confirm.
  4. You can still Call Rider or use In-app chat if there's any issue before confirming.
Dual confirmationBoth you and the rider must confirm completion. This protects both parties and ensures fair payment.

STEP 08 / DONE

Ride confirmed

You've tapped confirm. Now the system waits for the rider to do the same. Once both sides confirm, the ride is marked as COMPLETED and your earnings are recorded.

  1. Your side shows "Captain confirmed ✓" with a green check.
  2. The rider's side shows "Rider pending ⏳" — waiting for their confirmation.
  3. A green banner appears: "You've confirmed completion — Waiting for rider to confirm."
  4. Once the rider also confirms, the ride moves to your History tab with a COMPLETED badge.
All done!Collect your fare, keep your reliability score high, and head back online for the next LIVE ride. The more rides you complete, the better your standing.
